The wider picture
According to ACI Europe’s latest air-traffic report (for August 2026), Macedonia is the second fastest-growing aviation market in Europe (+34.8%), behind Slovakia (+61%). Among non-EU markets alone, the Macedonian airports were first that month — ahead of Montenegro (+28.6%) and Albania (+20.7%).
TAV Macedonia’s general manager, Nejat Kurt, noted that growth continues, but the ambition is also directed at service quality, not just the numbers.
